Myocardial Metabolism Changed in COVID-19 Vaccinated

Heart FDG PET Scans Markedly Abnormal in Large Study of Vaccine Recipients

By Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH

I watched a clip recently of Kansas City Chief’s star tight end Travis Kelce pushing COVID-19 vaccination. Kelce is young, fit, strong, probably has had COVID-19 before, and has no medical necessity or clinical indication to take more shots. Two things came to mind: 1) I hope the commercial is a fake shot, 2) I wondered if he is really forever changed by vaccination.

Nakahara et al recently published a large cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) study of vaccinated patients on their second shot compared to the unvaccinated. They found: “In a retrospective study of 700 SARS-CoV-2 vaccinated and 303 nonvaccinated patients who underwent PET/CT for indications other than myocarditis, patients who received their 2nd vaccine 1-180 days before imaging showed higher myocardial 18Fluorine-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) uptake (median SUVmax range, 4.6-5.1 [IQRs: 2.9-8.6]) than nonvaccinated patients (median SUVmax, 3.3 [IQR: 2.5-6.2]; P range, <.001 – .001).”
