Former President Donald Trump announced Saturday that neocons Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley won’t be invited back to serve in his second administration.

Pompeo served as Trump’s Secretary of State and CIA Director, and Haley served as UN Ambassador during Trump’s first term.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social.

Alex Jones reacts to Trump’s announcement:

The announcement was welcome news among Trump’s America First supporters, who had been quick to point out Pompeo had supported the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago and special counsel Jack Smith’s subsequent classified documents case against the former president.

Pompeo had also pushed for a plan to assassinate WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who was freed from the UK’s Belmarsh prison in June after 5 years on top of a previous 7 years trapped in the Ecuadorian embassy.

Haley, meanwhile, badmouthed Trump not just during the fleeting Republican primary but also in the days leading up to the 2024 election.

Trump in May had already shot down speculation that Haley could join his next administration, saying she wasn’t “under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!”

This is a good start for the incoming Trump administration and a sign neocons won’t have the same influence they did the first time around.
