Why ‘Mean Tweets’ and Cheap Gas Might Be Exactly What America Needs

Lynne Patton defends Trump’s presidency, citing benefits and criticizing sensitivity over results.

Lynne Patton asserts that many Americans would gladly accept aspects of Trump’s presidency, such as his “mean tweets,” in exchange for lower gas prices and improved national conditions.

She contends that the current administration’s policies have led to widespread dissatisfaction and deteriorating circumstances, making Trump’s straightforward communication style and policies appear more favorable in retrospect.

“… at the end of the day, he [Trump] has unfinished business… when you feel that something has been erroneously stripped from you… it makes it even more painful, I think, to move on, because of all the things that you know would not be happening to this country right now, if you were still in office… it goes without saying that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine… Israel probably would not have been attacked by Hamas on October 7.”

Patton’s viewpoint mirrors a broader sentiment that the directness and policies of the Trump administration, despite their divisiveness, delivered more concrete benefits for the average citizen.

Ultimately, Patton’s comments challenge the idea that political correctness should take precedence over practical results in governance.
