This is how he avoided the truth and got away with it.
In October 2014, the Obama administration implemented a moratorium on federal funding for gain-of-function research.
Fauci needed a workaround. So, he used his influence in key groups to shape the interpretation of gain-of-function research.
Dr. Robert Redfield explains that the groups Fauci influenced redefined gain-of-function research so that altering a non-harmful pathogen, such as COVID-19, and making it pathogenic wouldn’t count. Their definition requires starting with a pathogen ALREADY harmful to humans and making it more dangerous.
