French Left Defeat Marine Le Pen’s Right in Election Shocker
Now, the country is in “political limbo.”
Emmanuel Macron thought that his decision to call an early election would give France a “moment of clarification.”
Instead, the outcome left the country even more confused than before.
Voters split the legislature into left, center, and far-right factions, with none close to the majority needed to form a government. This outcome essentially puts France in a state of “political limbo.”
The leftist coalition came in first, followed by Macron’s centrist alliance, and then Le Pen’s National Rally as a close third, despite her party receiving the most votes in total.
Marine Le Pen, who is expected to run for president in 2027, says the election laid the groundwork for future victories.
