How many so-called “conspiracy theories” need to be proven true before the term is finally abandoned?

The term was first used by the CIA to shut down those who doubted the official line about the murder of JFK.

Here are some “conspiracy theories” that turned out to be true:

  • Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement in sex trafficking and his connections with powerful individuals.
  • MK-Ultra: The program’s existence was initially dismissed as a rumor until investigations in the 1970s confirmed its reality.
  • Operation Mockingbird: While initially dismissed as a conspiracy theory, details of the operation emerged in the 1970s through Congressional investigations.
  • The COVID shots: First, it was a conspiracy theory that there would be vaccine mandates. It was also a conspiracy theory that the shots didn’t stop transmission. Booster shots, also once a conspiracy theory, came after waning efficacy. And it turns out that people who took the most shots had the most COVID. Now, it’s a conspiracy theory that the shots are responsible for 17 million deaths worldwide. Will that eventually prove to be true?

What’s your favorite “conspiracy theory” that actually turned out to be true?
