What Happens If Biden Resigns BEFORE The Election?

I just came across a video in the last day or so in which our current [P]resident, Joseph R. Biden, was clearly laboring to read the rather large teleprompter just a few feet away off to his left.

This is not the first time Biden has pulled a Ron Burgundy.

Two years ago, videos went viral of Shoutin’ Joe yelling out, “Repeat the Line!”.

After realizing he’d made yet another teleprompter gaffe, Biden slowly made that shit-eating grin he’s so famous for:

[I realize some people kick around a theory where that’s not the real Joe Biden anymore, that it’s a body double or some clever actor wearing a mask. While I’ve toyed with that theory myself a time or two, I’m laying that aside for this column and proceeding under the stipulation this really is Joe Biden running for reelection against Donald J. Trump]

Recently, many commentators I see in the news commentary business and on social media have switched from speculating that Biden will be replaced before the 2024 election to positing that it’s now too late for any switch and that the Democrats are all but stuck with him.

I’m not so sure events won’t force the DNC’s hand, especially if Biden’s cognitive decline gets to the point that even MSNBC clowns like Joe Scarborough and Rachel Maddow are reluctantly forced to confess it.

Biden has been obviously mentally struggling for a while now. His struggles are growing more apparent the closer we get to November. They’re already limiting his public appearances, and the number of days when a lid gets called early is increasing.

But Biden is running against the most energetic and ferocious political campaigner of modern times, Donald Trump. In a repeat of 2020, pulling off an even more blatant election steal for the increasingly unpopular Biden is a very, very tough row to hoe.

Does Basement Joe really have a chance against a guy who’ll be holding up to five rallies a week by the time October arrives? I don’t think so.

Now, because of a rules change the Democratic National Committee made a few months back, there’s a popular theory that they will wait until the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this August after Biden has the nomination safely in his hands…to have Biden suddenly drop out of the race for health reasons and hand the nomination right back to the DNC. And the DNC bigwigs will then VOTE on who they want to hand the nomination to. No messy new convention or delegate vote required; they’ll do it all themselves. Biden may even go further than handing the nomination back. He may even resign due to the health issues.

Either way, the DNC then gets to pick his successor, or so the theory goes.

There’s just one major problem with this theory: The DNC doesn’t trump the US Constitution. The moment Biden resigns, the person pictured below instantly becomes the acting President of the United States and, presumably, the Democratic frontrunner and leading Democratic candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

The moment Biden resigns and Harris is promoted to acting President for the remainder of Biden’s term…an instant vacancy is created in the Vice President’s office. That vacancy must be filled; it cannot be left vacant indefinitely. Harris will have to nominate someone to be her acting Vice President to serve alongside her as she fills out the remainder of Biden’s term until January 20, 2025.

And whoever Harris nominates does not automatically get the job. There would have to be a Senate confirmation hearing, and then a vote and the nominee would have to pass that vote.

Imagine what Trump will be doing while this fiasco is playing out.

And make no mistake: this would be an utter and complete and total fiasco for the Democrat Party. I know some people frame this theory like it’s some 5D chess move, a true Machiavellian masterstroke that will flip the board in the Democrat’s favor.

But swapping out Biden and then playing musical chairs with Harris and whoever the new nominee and their vice presidential running mate are is not the winning power move some claim it is.

This is the desperation-sweat-covered rear-guard action of a dying animal who never thought she would lose.

Does Harris Even Agree To Meekly Step Aside?

Assuming the DNC rushes to hand its presidential nomination to someone else like Gavin Newsome, they’d have to get some assurance from acting President Kamala Harris that she does not want the job and does not intend to run for the presidency. That would be the only way to avoid any constitutional barriers to a last-minute swap-out strategy.

Thus far, there is no guarantee that this will happen. Everyone is just assuming Koh-MAH-Lah will be just fine going down in history as the doormat everybody walked on when she was passed over for The Big Job.

Assuming for a minute that the DNC convinces Harris to serve out Biden’s term and then obediently step aside for their chosen appointee, that brings up the question of who the appointee’s running mate would be for Vice President. I don’t think Harris would agree to step aside for a new Presidential nominee to take the VP slot once again, so it would have to be someone else.

This means an entirely new ticket rushed into place with only a few months to campaign head-to-head with an increasingly popular Trump.

This is not a winning strategy, no matter how many pundits and talking heads try to convince you it is. This would be a last resort maneuver, the kind of thing you do when everything else has failed.

Currently, the idiot Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, has Trump on trial in an absurd criminal case that shouldn’t have even been charged. Concurrently, Judge Aileen Cannon down in Palm Beach just gave Special Counsel Jack Smith conniptions by ruling against his request to keep certain information in the Trump classified documents case redacted.

She just unredacted an entire tranche of documents that Smith was desperate to hide from the Trump defense team and the American public. Meanwhile, the Georgia RICO election case with Fani Willis is going nowhere. The Smith J6 “Insurrection” case in DC is on permanent pause until SCOTUS makes a ruling on issues related to it.

The lawfare targeting Trump for going on two years now has failed and is continuing to fail. As I’ve said, this lawfare strategy probably LOOKED GOOD ON PAPER when the Deep State was drawing it up and doing tabletop/war game exercises on it three years ago.

Now?

As Biden looks increasingly feeble, frail, and confused while Trump gets stronger, richer, and more popular than ever, it appears the Deep State may have miscalculated and is now going to be forced into a last resort-type effort to stave off what two years ago seemed to be unthinkable:
